The Apps
The ipod touch is nothing without the app store, it makes the touch what it is and competitors of Apple have followed the trend. With new apps added daily its hard not find what your looking for. Most paid apps are cheap at a standard price of 99 cents. Graphic intense 3D games are much more expensive at prices ranging from 5 to 6 dollars. Lucky if you take the time to search around you can find some good free apps, its just the really good apps cost money. Most apps are small and take up little space. I'd say the average app size is about 20 megabytes. The apps developer may make update available to download for free. Ensuring your apps are up-to-date and bug free.
The screen
The screen is one of the biggest upgrades for the fourth gen. It packs the new retina display which make text so much sharper then the old 3g's screen. The retina display produces 326 pixels per inch, you can't even spot individual pixels.

The design
The 4g is noticeably thinner then the 3g. The 4g is only 7.2mm thin and a 101 grams. The built-in mic makes Skype easy to use. One issue I have with the touch is the design choice of a chrome finished back. Yes it looks nice, but it gets scratched very easily. I have mine in a gel case and somehow it still found a way to get scratched up. Okay, so its not that bad, it just has a few scratches.
The battery
The battery is good if you are using a lot of your processor or multitasking the battery will last about 4 hours. If you are just listening to music with the touch on sleep mode you can get about 12 out of your battery. It all depends on how long you use your ipod, brightness level, what kind of apps you use, and if your multitasking.
The cameras
One thing that I'm disappointed in is the camera. For starters they have this weird looking film grain when you using it. It seems to be if you don't have like twenty flood lights surrounding whatever your photographing or films you can't get decent quality. It makes me mad that spend a couple hundred dollars on this device and have kind of a crappy camera. Well your not going to make a feature length production on the touch. For what you get I guess its not too bad.
Pros
- retina display
- built-in mic
- good battery life
- App store
- internet browser
- 32gb of space
- quality speaker
- pricey, the cheapest model (8gb) is 200 hundred dollars
- chrome finished back is easily scratched
- cameras can't be use for low light situations
- must set up on iTunes to even start using
The ipod touch 4g is another high quality product from Apple and well worth the hefty price. It is everything I wanted in a multi-media device. My ipod could of replaced my laptop. The ipod touch 4g is only a call away of being a Iphone 4 (no pun intended). I would personal wait for a ipod touch 5g, but if you can't wait go head and buy the 4g. You won't regret buying it.
My rating of the touch 4g: Buy it
