Bulletstorm Skill Kills trailer

Bulletstorm is definitely the most unique shooters to come out this year. After playing the demo, I keep replaying it to see the different skillshots I could earn. With only a couple out weeks to go, I'm excited to see how Bulletstorm turns out.

Ipod touch 4th gen. 32gb review

I recently got a ipod touch 4g for Christmas and it was easily the best gift I got. As my first ipod touch I was amazed by the amount of stuff I can do on the touch. I play music, watch moives, surf the web, play games, take photos, record videos, and download a endless supply of apps.

The Apps
The ipod touch is nothing without the app store, it makes the touch what it is and competitors of Apple have followed the trend. With new apps added daily its hard not find what your looking for. Most paid apps are cheap at a standard price of 99 cents. Graphic intense 3D games are much more expensive at prices ranging from 5 to 6 dollars.  Lucky if you take the time to search around you can find some good free apps, its just the really good apps cost money. Most apps are small and take up little space. I'd say the average app size is about 20 megabytes. The apps developer may make update available to download for free. Ensuring your apps are up-to-date and bug free.

The screen
The screen is one of the biggest upgrades for the fourth gen. It packs the new retina display which make text so much sharper then the old 3g's screen. The retina display produces 326 pixels per inch, you can't even spot individual pixels.

3g(left) and 4g(right)

The design
The 4g is noticeably thinner then the 3g. The 4g is only 7.2mm thin and a 101 grams. The built-in mic makes Skype easy to use. One issue I have with the touch is the design choice of a chrome finished back. Yes it looks nice, but it gets scratched very easily. I have mine in a gel case and somehow it still found a way to get scratched up. Okay, so its not that bad, it just has a few scratches.

The battery
The battery is good if you are using a lot of your processor or multitasking the battery will last about 4 hours. If you are just listening to music with the touch on sleep mode you can get about 12 out of your battery. It all depends on how long you use your ipod, brightness level, what kind of apps you use, and if your multitasking.

The cameras
One thing that I'm disappointed in is the camera. For starters they have this weird looking film grain when you using it. It seems to be if you don't have like twenty flood lights surrounding whatever your photographing or films you can't get decent quality. It makes me mad that spend a couple hundred dollars on this device and have kind of a crappy camera. Well your not going to make a feature length production on the touch. For what you get I guess its not too bad.

Pros
  • retina display
  • built-in mic
  • good battery life
  • App store
  • internet browser
  • 32gb of space
  • quality speaker

Cons
  • pricey, the cheapest model (8gb) is 200 hundred dollars
  • chrome finished back is easily scratched
  • cameras can't be use for low light situations
  • must set up on iTunes to even start using
The final verdict
The ipod touch 4g is another high quality product from Apple and well worth the hefty price. It is everything I wanted in a multi-media device. My ipod could of replaced my laptop. The ipod touch 4g is only a call away of being a Iphone 4 (no pun intended). I would personal wait for a ipod touch 5g, but if you can't wait go head and buy the 4g. You won't regret buying it.

My rating of the touch 4g: Buy it

Rockstar Games presents L.A. Noire

I first heard about L.A. Noire on a article on Ign.com back in 09. I didn't think to much of the game because of the fact it was going to be a PS3 exclusive. I still thought it would be cool, Grand Theft Auto in the late forty's. It wasn't until the second half of 2010, we got to see what this game would be about.

I have to be honest after watching this trailer last November, I was blown away by the game. The animations for the faces were phenomenal. The trailer hints at what the player will do during the game. I notice two sequences that will set L.A. Noire away from GTA. Investigating crime scenes and interrogations. The way I see it is when you go to do a mission the player will have to process a crime scene for evidence. Then, you question wittinesses to gather clues. Finally, you interrogate suspect(s) and nail the guy who committed the crime. As you get farther through the game cases will become more complicated and harder to know for sure how committed the crime, but the most important aspect of the trailer is the reveal of a Xbox 360 version. In case you didn't know I have a 360.

The technology at hand has given Team Bondi (developer of the game) the ability to create realistic and believable characters. I think it funny how the actors have to get vintage 40's hair styles and makeup applied, like as if they are actors in a moive. It is understandable due to the fact their entire head is captured by several cameras. MotionScan technology is something truly amazing and it will give L.A. Noire a very strong presentation.

MotionScan technology is made of win.

L.A. Noire is going to be one the best games of this year. I have no problem on predicting this will be game of the year. Everyone is waiting in anticipation as L.A. Noire sets to release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 17(NA) and 20(EU).

Back on the right foot

Well it has been a long time (last summer) since I wanted to blog, but this time I'm seriously going to commit to my blog.

What is the Bryan Reviews and Ideas Blog about?
As the title said my blog is about my reviews of miscellaneous tech, games, and other assorted stuff. I'm not too sure on the Ideas part mostly because people have the tendency of stealing ideas. I guess I don't really have a clear idea for what I'm going to do on my blog. I think that will come in due time.

Anyway, I will update as often as a can and I will have a weekly Friday update. I just want to say I am excited to start blogging and maybe I'll have a decent amount of followers. Thats all I can think of for the moment, so good night. Bryan
